Keister Jukebox Playlist

Hello friends and strangers,

This my first attempt at a blog, one of those things I swore I would never have, like a cell phone.

First of all, let me explain this page's title "My Heart Chooses The Register". I could of sworn that my friend Trey, lead singer of the sensational country band Soggy Biscuit, told me it was a lyric from a John Cougar Mellencamp song. Well it turns out I must've heard him wrong because I cannot find that lyric anywhere in the man's repertoire, but it does sound like something the bastard would say, and it definitely means something. What it means I don't know. I suppose I'll figure it out when I grow up and get a real job.

So... since I have nothing better to right about write now, I give you my Zombie-Jesus-Day-Dive-Bar-jukebox playlist:

Leonard Cohen - "I'm Your Man"
Sam Cooke - "Win Your Love For Me"
Echo & The Bunnymen - "Do It Clean"
Ramones - "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend"
Damned - "See Her Tonite"
Dinosaur Jr. - "Blowing It'
Tom Waits - "16 Shells From A Thirty Ought Six"
Chuck Berry - "Maybelline"
Joy Division - "Disorder"
Arab Strap - "Shy Retirer"
Sonic Youth - "Dirty Boots"
Guided by Voices - "Best of Jill Hives"
David Bowie - "Modern Love"
Tammy Wynette - "Your Good Girl's Gonna Go Bad"
the Kinks - "Dedicated Follower of Fashion"
Talking Heads - "Naive Melody"
Johnny Cash - "Guess Things Happen That Way"
Television - "Friction"
Tom Waits - "Earth Died Screaming"
Buddy Holly - "Not Fade Away"
Sinead O' Conner - "Nothing Compares 2 U"
Creedence Clearwater Revival - "Lodi"
the Undertones - "Teenage Kicks"

The bar in question here is the Gold Cane by the way. Excellent jukebox, but somehow I found it poetic to play Sinead O' Conner on a Catholic holiday.

Yeah, I blame the bartender.
